I recently had the pleasure of attending a discussion all about Invisalign. I was already familiar with Invisalign, but I wanted to learn more. Our family has teeth issues! I wasn’t lucky enough to wear Invisalign to fix my teeth, instead I had to suffer with traditional braces, for well over a year.
Let me tell ‘ya, being a grown woman, in metal braces, ain’t nothing nice! The first few weeks were pure torture. My mouth was in constant pain, I was popping pain relievers like tic-tacs. The entire time he wore them, I kept teasing him, telling him he wouldn’t have been able to handle the pain associated with metal braces & he’d taken the easy way out. Truth is, he’d taken the smart way out!
According to our dentist AND orthodontist, our youngest will need braces too. That’s why I was so eager to learn all I could about Invisalign Teen. Many people are under the impression that their kids don’t need to see an orthodontist until they’re teenagers… but that’s not true.
Did you know the American Association of Orthodontics recommends taking children for their first orthodontic check-up no later than age seven? The American Dental Association says this is because, “Your child’s dentist can spot problems with emerging teeth and jaw growth early on, while the primary teeth are present.”

Invisalign Teen uses a custom-made series of aligners, created for you and only you, they fit over your teeth perfectly. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable, & virtually invisible plastic that you wear on your teeth. As you wear the aligners, your teeth will gradually and gently shift into place, based on the exact movements your dentist or orthodontist plans out for you. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners about every two weeks, until your treatment is complete.
