2015 Mazda3 i Touring 4-Door – Prices start at $19,595 – MPG 30/41 – Seats 5
One of the things I love about living in Northern California; there’s always something to do on the weekends. Never a dull moment when you live in the Bay. So when I received the 2015 Mazda3 for the week; I knew just where I wanted to zoom off to come Saturday morning … Treasure Island in San Francisco…zoom zoom!
Our family has owned 2 Mazdas, and I was eager to see what the new 2015 Mazda3 had to offer. First impressions: very sporty looking car, especially in Soul Red. Here’s a little peek inside.
Voted “10 Best” by Car and Driver, the Mazda3 boasts both a Forward Obstruction & Lane Departure Warning System. Our old Mazda’s didn’t have as many safety features, feeling safe in the car I’m driving is extremely important to me. The Mazda handled well and really gripped all the curves in the road. (Kinda made me want to drive faster than I should, but I was able to resist the temptation).
The Mazda3 gets really good gas mileage – I used about 1/2 a tank of gas & drove it everywhere, every day, for an entire week. The trunk is HUGE! We do a lot of traveling, and we need a large trunk for all our suitcases.
What Hubby Liked: He liked the Radar Cruise Control, which automatically controls the engine and brakes to maintain a set speed and distance between you and the vehicle in front of you. Gas mileage, handling, and trunk size were also on his list.
What I Liked: I really liked the way it drove, and how it gripped the road. The safety features- I’m all about keeping my family safe! The price, great value at a great price.
What Our Little Liked: The trunk size! He said he can fit all his beach toys in the trunk and still have room for anything else he wants to take with him.
What We Didn’t Like: Just like last time, I’m the only one with something to say here. I felt like the door sill was a bit high. A few times I kinda kicked the door sill while trying to get out of the car. Maybe it’s just my short legs?! No biggie, but felt I should mention it.
Overall, I have to say the Mazda3 was a delight to drive. (I’d like to add we never had any problems with either one of our Mazda’s when we owned them.)

Treasure Island used to be a Naval Station back in the day. The Naval Station is no longer in operation, Treasure Island is now home to a couple wineries-small businesses & a few people actually reside on the man-made island. Seeing the old abandoned barracks brought back so many memories of our old military life. Great views of San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Alcatraz … I highly recommend visiting the island on your next trip to the Bay.
