I’m sharing this because I want to help up & coming bloggers. I also want to make it known that, as a Blogger; I don’t condone this type of behavior. I posted all of this to my twitter acct, but feel like it deserves it’s own post here on the blog.
The discussions Bloggers and PR folks are having right now, whew! PLEASE don’t be “that” blogger everyone is currently talking about.
The blogger at an event helping yourself to ALL the food, ALL the samples, ALL the freebies. If an event is ending & the organizers ask you to take the leftover food (samples, freebies, etc) home with you so it doesn’t go to waste, that’s one thing. In that case, pls do help yourself & always remember to thank your host.
Do NOT, under any circumstances, just take-take-take! Don’t bust out your Tupperware & start piling heaps of food in it to take home to feed your family of 5. Do not open your purse and dump an entire tray of appetizers in it! Do not take 3 dozen cookies home.
It’s hella embarrassing to be standing next to you when that happens! HELLA!
I’ve seen bloggers go up to brands & PR & straight up say, “Whatcha got for me? What are you giving away?” OMG! Don’t be that blogger!
You might think you’re getting over, but you’re not. People see what you’re doing & they’re talking about it behind the scenes. PR & Brands are comparing notes. You’re making us ALL look bad & it needs to stop! STOP IT!
I don’t want freebies! I want to form long-lasting working relationships with brands I know, love, trust, and support.
Loyalty, honesty, and integrity are just three of the values I bring to the table. As a Blogger, I’m in this for the long haul. Mutually satisfying partnerships are what I’m searching for, not freebies.
When one of us succeeds, we ALL succeed. Let’s all strive to do better & be better.
We’re Bloggers, not Beggars.
