Run The Race {Movie Review}

May 31, 2019

I was provided a copy of Run The Race, in order to facilitate this post. All opinions are mine.

Tim Tebow movie, Run The Race

When you hear the name Tim Tebow, what comes to mind? Football? Athlete? Author? Baseball? Christian? What about movie producer?

That’s right! Tim and his brother, Robby, produced Run The Race. The movie is now available on Blu-ray and DVD at Walmart & http://www.uni.pictures/WMT_RunTheRace

I watched Run The Race with my family. I wasn’t sure what to expect. To my surprise, we all really enjoyed it.

This inspiring film is about two young brothers who face unbelievable odds. They also share an unbreakable bond.

“I wanted to be part of something that’s encouraging and inspirational to the viewer. I believe RUN THE RACE accomplishes this by showing two brothers struggling with real life, but getting through it by supporting each other and their faith,” said Executive Producer, and Heisman Trophy winner, Tim Tebow. “I hope those who see it can walk away with more faith, hope, and love.”

Synopsis
In RUN THE RACE, two desperate brothers sacrifice today for a better tomorrow. Reeling from his mother’s death and his father’s abandonment, Zach, an All-State athlete, finds glory on the football field, working to earn a college scholarship & the brothers’ ticket out of their small town.

When a devastating injury puts Zach—and his dreams—on the sidelines, David laces up his track cleats to salvage their future and point Zach toward hope.

RUN THE RACE shows what’s possible when you run to—instead of from—the overwhelming love of God.

The movie stars Mykelti Williamson (FENCES, FORREST GUMP) as the boys’ coach, Frances Fisher (TITANIC, UNFORGIVEN) as their surrogate mother, Tanner Stine (NCISHBO’s Here & Now) as Zach & Evan Hofer (Kickin’ It) as David. Supporting cast includes Kristoffer Polaha, Mario Van Peebles, & Heisman-winner Eddie George.

Tim tebow’s Run The Race

It was so refreshing to watch a movie with my family & not have to worry about profanity, suggestive themes, or nudity. You’ll find none of that in Run The Race. What you will find is a story about love, hardship, perseverance, and faith. (Yes, I cried.) The characters were believable, I especially liked the relationship the brothers had. I hope my sons have that type of relationship someday.

I want to see more family movies like this. We have a 12 year old. It’s difficult to find movies our entire family can watch together. Many of today’s PG & PG-13 movies are like “R” movies of yesteryear! It’s frustrating.

Tim Tebow, I hope you and your brother are working on another movie. I’ll be first in line to see it. Thank you for making wholesome, family-friendly movies that I can enjoy with my family.

Two thumbs up!
