This post is sure to anger a few of you, heck, maybe even a lot of you. At this point in my life, that’s a chance I’m willing to take. I’m going to be talking about Pride Month, Palestine, and Illegal Immigration. When I started this blog, years ago; I did so with the intention of inspiring others. I wanted to be a voice for those unable to speak up for themselves. That hasn’t changed.
I do find myself holding back though. Why? The answer is simple, I don’t want to “offend” anyone. I don’t want to offend family, friends, or my readers. So I bite my tongue and remain silent. While I’ve been quiet, others have not. Much of what others have to say is highly offensive to me, yet they say it anyways.
Today, it’s MY turn. I’m not going to bite my tongue anymore. Why should I? I have just as much right to my own opinion as the next guy.
Today’s post has been on my heart for awhile. I received a text today that reminded me of my reasons for starting my blog. This blog post is dedicated to that person, you know who you are.
Let me explain what I mean when I say I’ve Had Enough Of Pride Month, Palestine, and Illegals. It’s probably not what you think.
I know there are many folks out there who disagree with Pride Month, Palestine, and Illegal Immigration. This blog post is directed at CHRISTIANS who feel this way.
(Whew! Is it just me or is it getting hot in here?!)
John 13:34
I was raised Catholic, but accepted Christ as my savior in the late 80’s. I don’t understand how so many “Christians”, can spew so much hate! The Bible commands us to “Love One Another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
Matthew 7:1 Judge not, that ye be not judged.
Matthew 7:2-5 The way you judge others will be the way that you will be judged. You will be evaluated by the standard with which you evaluate others. “Why do you see the speck in your brother’s eye but fail to notice the beam in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when the beam is in your own eye?
I try to live in a way that is pleasing to God. I have family and friends who are part of the LGBTQ community. Love One Another. I do not dislike or hate anyone because of their sexual preference or orientation, period. I’m tired of all the Pride Month bashing.
Palestine and Palestinians: How can someone proclaiming to be Christian relish in the death of others? Christ commanded us to Love One Another. Period. That means everyone, not just other Christians. EV-ER-Y-ONE. The deaths of other human beings does not bring me joy. I’m tired of all the hate directed at the people of Palestine. Period.
Just because someone crosses a border “illegally” does not make them bad people. Let me repeat that: Just because someone crosses a border illegally, does not make them bad people. Love One Another. If your neighborhood, town, city, state, or country was no longer a safe place for you or your family; what would you do? I know what I would do. I’d try to find someplace that WAS safe. I think that’s just human nature. We have an innate instinct to protect ourselves and our families. I would do whatever I needed to do to protect my loved ones, wouldn’t you? If that meant crossing a border, so be it. How can you call yourself a Christian, but demonize someone for trying to save their loved ones? Furthermore, if YOUR ancestors hadn’t come to this country, you wouldn’t even be here! I’m tired of all the hate being directed at people who are just trying to survive. Period.
John 13:33-35 “A new commandl I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Love One Another. Period.
