Springtime = Grill Time & My Marinated Ribeye!

April 2, 2013

This is a sponsored post.

One of the first things I do when the weather warms up is bring out the grill and dust it off. I love grilling outside in the springtime, and all summer really. Grilling outside is fast, easy and the end result is a tasty dinner! I also like that I don’t have to turn on the oven and heat up the whole house, or dirty up a bunch of pots and pans. I love grilling on the weekends, after we’ve been out running errands or after we get back from a long day of soccer/football/”insert sport here” games! Yesterday was the first time I brought the grill out this spring – and I made some delicious Marinated Ribeye Steaks.

I posted pics on my FB page and quite a few people commented on how good my steaks looked, so I thought I’d share the recipe with everyone. It’s really easy & simple, just the way I like it. Here’s what you’ll need:

* 4-6 large Garlic Cloves (or Garlic Powder with Parsley, that’s what I used- I just used as much as I wanted, measuring’s over-rated!) *1 Tablespoon salt * 1 Teaspoon black pepper * 1/2 Cup red wine * 1/4 Cup balsamic vinegar * 1/4 Cup soy sauce * 1-2  Tablespoons honey * 1 Teaspoon worcestershire sauce * 1- 1 1/2 lbs Walmart Choice Premium Ribeye Steak

Combine all marinade ingredients, mixing well to dissolve the salt and honey. In a heavy-duty resealable plastic bag combine Ribeye with marinade. Seal bag, pressing out excess air. (Or use a pan or whatever you normally marinate in.) Put in fridge, turning occasionally, for 1 hour or more. Prepare grill. Remove steak from marinade, letting excess drip off, and place on grill. Cook as you normally do on grill. Once meat is done, remove from grill and let sit for 10-15 minutes before cutting. If you cut it too soon, all the juices will drain out & you’ll be left with dried out steak, no bueno! (I also added some mushrooms to my marinade & grilled them separately. If you like mushrooms, go for it- if not, you can just omit them.)

You may have noticed I used Walmart Steaks for my recipe. That’s because Walmart’s Choice Premium Beef is aged for tenderness & flavor. Only 1 in 5 steaks is good enough to be called Walmart Choice Premium Beef, and certified by the USDA for quality. With Walmart’s Money Back Satisfaction Guarantee, it’s a no-brainer for me!

Walmart has an exciting event coming up that I’d love to invite all my readers to. Local firefighters from eight different cities will compete to determine who has the best steak-grilling chops in town. Walmart shoppers in each city will get a front row seat to the event, which will take place in the parking lot of their local Walmart store. Shoppers who attend will have the chance to join the festivities, taste test Walmart Choice Premium steaks, sample Dr. Pepper and A.1. steak sauce, and cast their vote for best steak.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           2013 Walmart Steak-Over Challenge Locations include:
