Well, just in time for the sailing world’s big event, join Nespresso- the official coffee of the 34th America’s Cup, & Macy’s Culinary Council Chefs Marc Forgione and Michelle Bernstein as they share the delicious coffee-infused recipes they’ve created for Nespresso’s Grand Chef Rondezvous at the Ferry Building!188712eb-c5ee-482c-9f50-78a30764412b

Chef Marc Forgione is the chef/owner of Restaurant Marc Forgione in New York City, and American Cut at Revel in Atlantic City. After being crowned the Champion of Season 3 of The Next Iron Chef, he is currently one of the seven “Iron Chefs” appearing on Food Network’s Iron Chef America. Restaurant Marc Forgione was recognized with a glowing two-star review in the New York Times and Chef Forgione is the youngest American-born chef/owner to receive a Michelin star consecutively three years in a row. (That’s one talented chef! ) In Spring of 2012, Chef Forgione opened American Cut at Revel in Atlantic City, combining his signature take on fine dining with the comforts of the new American steakhouse. I’d love to eat at either of his restaurants, … who am I kidding… I wanna eat at both! 7b89843b-0678-4fe7-98a6-8db172eaf439

Since attracting the national spotlight in the mid 1990’s, Chef Michelle Bernstein has remained one of the region’s most well-respected and successful chefs/restaurateurs.  A Miami native of Jewish and Latin descent, (Latina in the house!) this passionate culinaire has dazzled diners and critics alike with her sublime cuisine and a personality as bright and vibrant as the Florida sun.  “My food isn’t heavy handed or unnecessarily complicated,” says Bernstein, a James Beard Award winner “Best Chef South 2008” and author of Cuisine a Latina.  “You don’t need heavy handed technique and over the top presentations to make a dish work. It’s about amazing ingredients, layered flavors and simplicity.  My style of cooking is inspired by my own food memories and it’s the simple, soulful cooking that stays, that I remember from my travels.  I cook the food I love and I think that love translates to the diners.”  Nowadays, Bernstein is busier than ever.  Besides successful restaurants, Michy’s and Crumb on Parchment, and her own family (she and husband/partner David Martinez recently became parents), Bernstein dedicates time to Common Threads an after-school program for underprivileged kids and regularly appears on an array of national TV shows, from Top Chef to Good Morning America.  In addition, she is part of the Lexus Culinary Masters, a brand ambassador for Crisco, and is a member of the Macy’s Culinary Council and the LEAN CUISINE® Culinary Roundtable. (Whew, that’s one busy Mama!)

Macy’s Culinary Council is a national culinary authority comprising some of the nation’s leading culinary masters. Launched in 2003, MCC’s team of distinguished chefs serves to inspire the way Macy’s customers shop, cook and eat at home. The chefs are both ambassadors and instructors, providing expert culinary advice and leading cooking demonstrations at Macy’s stores, with the aim of teaching customers how to cook and shop like a master chef. If you’ve never been to a Macy’s Culinary Event, you are missing out! They show you how to cook the meal, plate it up & let you taste it. You’ll leave the event with the recipe in your hot little hands!

If you’d like to attend this event, you’ll need to RSVP, because seating is limited. (All their events are very intimate & up-close with the Chefs, I love it!) Log on  Here to RSVP.
