Blogalicious, How I Love Thee! #DearBlogalicious

October 2, 2013

Last year, I attended my first ever Blogger’s Conference. It was Blogalicious’12, in Vegas. My blogging life changed dramatically after that conference.  “The foundation of Blogalicious is our community. Digital influencers, social media enthusiasts, business owners and thought leaders of all ethnicities, niches and industries are what make our community rich in ideas, innovation and relationships.”header-151-300x55 First, I was able to connect with some amazing folks, representing different companies. I’ve done some freelance writing for a couple of them. That would’ve never happened, had I not attended Blogalicious12.

I met representatives from the Shot@Life organization. Shot@Life provides life saving vaccines to children in developing countries. I am now a Shot@Life Champion, representing CA! I’m helping save lives of children, that would otherwise die from a vaccine preventable disease. All because I attended Blogalicious12! SONY DSC

I met great bloggers! Everyone was very kind and welcoming. I’m a shy person, but the other bloggers made me feel at ease, and I was able to step outside of my comfort zone… even if just for a bit. The sessions were all very informative-I learned tons! TONS! Each session was filled with nuggets… MEAT, I like to call it. When I attend a conference, I want MEAT not FLUFF! I need concrete information, tell me what I need to do to improve my blog life. Give me examples, show me what needs to take place. I don’t want a bunch of “inspiration,” sure that’s fine, but I’m there to LEARN. Blogalicious understands that, they get it!

SONY DSCNot only did I learn from the sessions, but from the other bloggers in attendance. Networking with them, or just listening to the conversations of others, (yes, I did that too), I was able to gain insight into blogging that I didn’t have before attending.

SONY DSCBlogalicious is like a family, we ARE family. We care about one another, when one of us succeeds, we ALL succeed. We help each other out. We keep the conversation going all year long, via our FB pages. And we have fun- LOTS of it!

Blogalicious gave me the chance to see one of my all-time favorite rappers: Doug E. Fresh! I grew up listening to him, seeing him in person was almost too much! I’m still talking about it, a whole year later! Blogalicious gave me a blueprint for blogging. I am thankful to everyone involved in putting the conference together. I can’t wait to see everyone tomorrow, in Atlanta, for Blogalicious’5. It’s the five year anniversary of the conference & I know it’s going to be even better than last year! I LOVE you, Blogalicious!

I’ll leave you with a pic of me & Doug E. Fresh! 😀
