I’m a music junkie- always have been, always will be. I was groovin’ to Prince before most people had ever heard of him, thanks to my typing partner in high school who introduced me to Prince and so many other great musicians. I’d heard Prince on the radio, crooning “I Wanna Be Your Lover” but didn’t know any of his other songs, until my typing partner educated me. I can listen to Prince all day & all night & never tire of his voice.
In high school, I told everyone I knew that I was going to marry Michael Jackson… yep, I sure did! I’d been a fan ever since I could remember and I just felt that if I ever met him, we’d fall in love & the rest would be history. (I’m serious!) The guys used to tease me, and call Michael names, and I would always defend him. You couldn’t tell me nothing about Michael-I loved me some him!
Music has gotten me through some very difficult, low times in my life. It’s also been there for me in some of my most amazing times. Fact is, music is ALWAYS there…always soothing me, inspiring me, healing me, and touching my soul in ways that nothing else can. Music has the ability to transport me to another time, another place, it’s a constant in my life.
I’m never without my music, whether I’m at home, in the car, or traveling- I always have my tunes with me. My kids are the same way-they’ve been around music since before they were born- I made sure of that.
Whenever I travel, whether it be for business or pleasure- I make sure to take my headphones with me. I put them on and forget all about the baby crying behind me, or the fact that the plane is experiencing a wee bit more turbulence than I’m comfortable with.
