2015 Mazda CX-9 – Prices start at $29,985 – MPG 17/24 – Seats 7
I’ve said it before & I’ll say it again, I’m partial to Mazda. Having owned a couple in the past, I’ve found them to be highly dependable cars. Getting to check out the Mazda CX-9 was a special treat, since I feel so at home behind the wheel of one.

What caught my eye right off the bat, was the roominess of the vehicle. I’m a minivan lovin’ mama – but the Mazda CX-9 is one car that could make me ditch my soccermobile! It was large enough for a big grocery haul, luggage & a shopping trip. The seats were comfy, and that third row seating comes in handy for driving around friends & family. When not in use, just lower that third row and use all the extra storage space any way you see fit. That Titanium Flash color was sharp! (The photo below is off the Mazda website.)
I liked the size of the trunk area & found out loading & unloading groceries was a breeze- check this out:
We decided to take the Mazda CX-9 down to LA for the weekend. Hitting the open road is really the best way for me to see how a vehicle handles & how comfortable it is. We made a couple of stops along the way… according to our little man, it’s not a road trip without his fave McDonald’s treats. As you can see, he made good use of the center armrest with storage & cup holders.
The ride was smooth, very smooth. This car handles well & it’s much easier to park than my minivan. You know how sometimes when you’re driving on the highway you can hear a lot of wind noise… even with the windows rolled up? Yeah, well that wasn’t a problem in the CX-9. The quiet ride was a change from the somewhat noisy ride we often experience in my minivan. Here’s a quick peek behind the wheel for you:
The Bose speakers were music to my ears, we were groovin’ to our favorite songs all the way down to LA. If you know anything about me, you know I gotta have my music!
I must tell you that the ride to & from LA was one of the best I’ve experienced in a while. The car was just gliding down the highway, and it actually made our driving time seem shorter. (It wasn’t, but it felt like it was & that’s all that matters!) OH! I need to show you a really cool feature of the Mazda CX-9, it’s the Blind Spot Monitoring built into the mirrors… see the pic below? When you are changing lanes, if there’s a car in your blind spot, a little car icon will light up indicating a car in your path. There’s also an alert that will sound. Sweet!
We made it to LA safe & sound, and did a little shopping along the way at the brand new Outlets at Tejon (located between LA & Bakersfield). They were having tons of great sales and we had a blast checking out all the stores.
What Hubby Liked: Gas mileage, handling & appearance. He enjoyed driving it.
What I Liked: All the safety features built in, from the backup camera to the blind spot monitoring to the airbags- I felt extremely safe in the Mazda CX-9.
What Our Little Liked: The roominess & the center console with cup holders! He also liked the way the car looked.
What We Didn’t Like: That we only had the car for one week! We LOVED the Mazda CX-9! Great family car!
