Now that my little one is back in school, I’ve been making lots of after school snacks. I want my son to eat healthy, and I’m excited to be partnering with Foster Farms to bring you one of my favorite after school snack recipes. Thank you, Foster Farms, for sponsoring today’s conversation.
You guys know I like to keep things simple in the kitchen, especially when it comes to meals for my sometimes picky eater. Today’s recipe has 3 ingredients…that’s it! You don’t need a ton of ingredients to make something tasty.
Growing up, my father was always warning us of the dangers of artificial ingredients. He was a real stickler about not eating junk food and watching what we ate. That’s one of the reasons I really like Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey. I remember the things my dad used to say about nitrates & nitrites, and try to steer clear of them. Not only is Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey nutritious and delicious; it’s also free of nitrates and nitrites and contains lower sodium. Foster Farms Slow Oven Roasted Turkey Breast has 35% less sodium than the average sliced turkey breast!
Do you read the labels on the foods you buy? If you don’t, you should really start- it’s a real eye opener!
Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey premium lunchmeat is made naturally with 100% turkey breast – no chemicals, preservatives, artificial ingredients, or colors.
I don’t know about your family, but in this family lunchmeat isn’t just for sandwiches. I like to chop it up and use it in frittatas. My little guy likes to make roll-ups with it. Something we both enjoy adding Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey to is quesadillas! Quesadillas are a staple in this multicultural familia-my kids can’t get enough of them! Let me show you how I make my Turkey & Cheese Quesadillas.
First, you’ll need cheese slices, corn tortillas & Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey. I use Honey Roasted & Smoked, but you can use the Oven Roasted one too. Before I forget, here’s a coupon for you. Save a dollar now by clicking here and downloading your coupon! Yay!
Back to the Quesadillas:
Take one slice of Foster Farms All Natural Sliced Turkey and place it on top of a corn tortilla. Add a slice of cheese and then cover with another corn tortilla. Place the quesadilla in a pan over low heat. Cook for a few minutes and then turn over with a spatula.
After about 8 minutes (or once the cheese has melted), remove the quesadilla from the pan. Allow the quesadilla to cool down and then slice it in quarters. It should look like this:
Looks good, don’t it?!
These Turkey & Cheese Quesadillas are very versatile and can be eaten for a snack, breakfast or lunch. I hope you’ll enjoy them as much as my family does. And don’t forget your coupon – you can save a dollar here!
