I recently returned from beautiful Turks & Caicos, in the Caribbean. I was there for the Social Media On The Sand Conference, held at Beaches Resorts. (I’ll be sharing all the details of my stay at Beaches in a bit, trying to post in the order things transpired).
When we arrived in Turks, it was drizzling, and had been raining for 2 days straight. Roads were flooded and getting around was a bit tricky. I was overjoyed to wake up the following morning to some dry skies!
We hit the beach and headed over to one of our favorite places to eat on the island, Jojo’s Cafe-located at Windsong on the Reef. Jojo’s is right on the beach- perfect setting for a great meal. We woke up starving, as we’d gotten in late the night before & most places were already closed.
The Conch Fritters caught my eye, so I ordered them for starters. I was not disappointed! Little man didn’t like them, but hubby & I enjoyed the heck outta ’em. There were 6 in an order for $12… not bad.
They were well-seasoned. They set the stage for what I was about to enjoy next … a Seafood Pita! I’d never had a seafood pita before and I’m looking forward to recreating this dish here at home. It was filled with crab meat, shrimp, veggies & avocado. It was delicious! I think I paid $19 for it-well worth every penny, and it came with fries. Look at this beauty!
I think I could’ve eaten two of those pitas, I ain’t even gonna lie!
Hubby had a burger (he’s not as adventurous when it comes to food as I am, ha!) and little man had fish fingers…just like chicken fingers, but with fish!
Once our meal was finished, there was nothing left to do but take a stroll on the beach; the sky was grey but that didn’t put a damper on our spirits! (And yeah, you’ll need your passport to travel to Turks & Caicos).
Can’t wait to share the rest of our Turks & Caicos trip with you!
