Ahh, summer is finally here! I’m really looking forward to spending more time outdoors with my family, tending to my garden, and traveling. I absolutely love summertime! I want to enjoy every moment of it. In order to do that; I try to adhere to a schedule that will allow me to pick up at any given moment, and head off on a new adventure. That’s kinda hard with work, and the kid’s activities. Seems someone’s always either dashing out the door, or rushing in. Our schedules are just too busy some days. But this year, Lucky California & their new Click Cart service is going to help me make the most of my summer!
One thing that eats up a lot of my time is trips to the grocery store. First, there’s all those other shoppers; that can be a little overwhelming for an introvert like me. Sometimes it can take me ten minutes (on a bad day) just to park. Then I have to go inside and get my groceries, only to wait in long checkout lines to pay. And yes, I’m one of those shoppers who has to look at everything in the store, so I tend to get a little “sidetracked” and occasionally buy items I shouldn’t. (Hey, I don’t wanna miss out on any bargains, you know I’m a thrifty shopper!)
What is Click Cart?
The new online shopping platform, ClickCart, is launching in select stores this year. The service is now available at Lucky California in Dublin, Livermore’s Lucky located on 200 Portola Ave, and the Modesto Save Mart on Pelandale Ave.
“ClickCart allows families with limited free time, to order online in the convenience of their own home, or on the go & pick-up curbside,” stated Kim Musgrave, Director of Digital & Loyalty Marketing (and working mom.) “We may not be the first grocer to offer online shopping, but we took the time to make sure our service reflected our shopper’s needs.” Online shopping? Sign me up!
Click Cart is one more component of the Save Smart and Lucky You rewards programs. All in-store and online savings—coupons, points, rewards, eScrip—are available through the app or online. Each store will have a personal shopper that hand selects each order for the shopper. For a limited time, the service fee will be waived, and thereafter will beat the competition at only $5 per order.
How Does It Work?
So you know I had to give Click Cart a try, right? First thing I did was download the Lucky California app. I chose my store (Lucky California in Dublin), then I went to the screen that says “Shopping” and picked my items & put them in my virtual shopping cart. The next screen prompted me to select a pick-up day & time. After I decided on that; I entered my demographics info. The last step was confirming my order & paying for my groceries. It was all completed in a matter of minutes. The app & website are very easy to maneuver & user-friendly. I received an email confirmation shortly after placing my order.
The following day, I drove to Lucky California to get my order. Once inside the store, the Click Cart checkout stand was very easy to find. I noticed a large, refrigerated cooler with shopping bags marked “Click Cart” on them. I figured my goodies were in the cooler. My personal shopper, Sophia, was quick to assist me & answer my questions about this new online shopping option.
Sophia told me the cooler is divided into two specific areas. One side is a fridge, and the other is a freezer. All orders with cold or frozen goodies are placed in there. If you’ve ordered something hot (like a rotisserie chicken from the deli), that will actually be pulled for you once you arrive to pick up your order. So the cold things stay cold & the hot things stay hot. Smart!
When Sophia took my bags out of the cooler, she placed them in a shopping basket. She immediately looked at my original order list I’d submitted online, and double checked to make sure everything was in my bags & nothing had been left out. I really liked that. She let me know that my yogurt selection qualified for a $.30 off coupon, which had been automatically applied. We also earned a FREE package of Oreo cookies. Not sure what we did to earn that, other than use the Click Cart service & the fact that we’re Lucky Rewards members. I wasn’t about to question free Oreos! Click Cart users get perks like that, I was even given a $10 off coupon to use on my next Click Cart order.
My personal shopper, Sophia, also let me know that I could’ve picked up my order at the curb. She told me there’s a special phone number for curbside pickup, just call it once you arrive and your groceries will be brought out to you. I was like “Cool, but we gotta come in anyways, how else will we be able to order our smoothies from the juice bar?!” Our son LOVES the smoothies at Lucky California.
I was in and out of the store in under ten minutes! Can I Click Cart everything in my life? Please!
