Mountain House, California: Serving Up Food, Fun, and Family Living {Signature Homes Alta Open House}

I absolutely love living in the San Francisco Bay Area. We have great weather, a diverse population, and some of the most innovative minds around. One thing I don’t love, is the high cost of housing. A one room apartment in San Francisco can go for $4,000 a month … crazy, right?! So what’s a person, (family), to do if they’re in the market to buy a house? I’m gonna share a lil secret with you, and it’s called Mountain House!

Mountain House is located just east of Livermore, California. It’s a family-oriented town, with parks, green belts, trails, playgrounds, excellent schools, a community center, new library under construction, baseball, soccer, and basketball courts.

Houses start in the $500,000’s. This past weekend, their newest subdivision, Alta by Signature Homes, had its grand opening. I’ve attended several model home openings in Mountain House, and each time I do, I fall in love with the area a little more.

WHY?

As I mentioned, houses are in the $500,000’s. You can’t get that in most cities in the SF Bay Area. You’re just not gonna find 3 & 4 bedroom homes for that price around here, especially not new homes.

You can get more bang for your buck in Mountain House. Period. The brand new Alta homes have gourmet kitchens, walk-in closets, spacious living areas, open floor plans, lofts, pantries, dens, backyards that you can entertain in, and covered patios. Heck, one model (The Wildrose), even had TWO walk-in closets in the master bedroom!

Master planned communities, like the ones in Mountain House, make life so much easier. Everything you want and need can be found near you.

Mountain House is a diverse community of people, and businesses who are working together to create an ideal place to raise a family. As a Mom, that matters to me.

If we were in the market to buy a home, Mountain House is where I’d want to live.

This past weekend; Mountain House hosted its first Global Food Fair. This community event gave residents a chance to sample a variety of delicious cuisine from around the world. There was live music, balloon artists, and face painters! (When was the last time YOUR community did something like that? All for free!)

You guys! These local (Mountain House/Tracy) vendors showed up and showed out! I was expecting samples of food, little bites, what I got instead were full plates.

As I sat in the park, with my family, I looked around. I took in everything. I saw Mountain House families eating, socializing, and having fun. Young children were getting their faces painted, others were running around squealing with delight. Young & old alike, came out to celebrate their community. I saw smiles everywhere I turned. Many different nationalities, all gathered together in one park, enjoying good food, good weather, and each other.
