Jalapeño Grapefruit Simple Syrup
Ingredients:
- 1 medium-size green jalapeño pepper
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup raw sugar
Directions:
Place a small saucepan over medium heat, cut the jalapeño pepper in half lengthwise, place the pepper into the saucepan and allow it to char on both sides, make sure you are in a well-ventilated area. Do not heat the pepper longer than one minute per side, add the water and raw sugar. Turn the heat to high and allow the mixture to come to a boil. Boil for two minutes then remove the saucepan from the heat source. Place a tightfitting lid onto the saucepan and allow the mixture to steep for fifteen minutes. Strain the Jalapeño Grapefruit Simple Syrup through a fine sieve into a Mason jar. Screw on the lid and chill in the fridge until you are ready to use it.
Enjoy and drink responsibly.
