I remember bringing my newborn home from the hospital. I was overwhelmed by the realization that I was responsible for the life of another human being! My first baby, and his entire well being depended on me. I prayed that I would do all the right things and have all the right answers to the questions he would one day ask.

Two decades (and one child) later, I’m still praying for guidance! It really doesn’t get any easier as they get older, don’t let anyone tell you it does. But you know what- when I sit back and look at my kids, all my fears subside. I see two very intelligent, well-adjusted, happy kids. Being a Mother is a ton of hard work- I’m awake from Son up until Son down! (you see what I did there?!)

Through the years, I’ve heard, “You’re doing ok, Mom” from my children’s pediatricians, their teachers and my family. Those four little words, mean so much to a Mother. We all need reassurance that we’re on the right track. Do I always make my kids eat all their veggies? No, I don’t. Do I always enforce an early bedtime? No, not always. I’m not a perfect Mom- none of us are… but it’s OK!

I remember when my oldest was little, he came up to me and said: “You always make the best food, Mommy! You use the best gredients!” He still thinks I make the best food ever, he can’t wait to see what’s on Mommy’s menu every day. (And he no longer says gredients!)

If you ask my little one, he’ll tell you Mommy gives the best hugs and kisses! He can’t stand to see me lovin’ on anyone else, he believes all Mommy’s hugs & kisses are for him.

SONY DSCI’m so thankful for my children. Being a Mother is a blessing not every woman gets to experience, I know how fortunate I am. My children are both healthy and thriving, they’re mi vida!
