Macy’s Valley Fair (Santa Clara, CA) – 6pm
Did you know June 14th was Strawberry Shortcake Day?! Well I didn’t, I had no idea until my good friends at Macy’s told me. Strawberry Shortcake is a classic, I remember eating it every summer while growing up, it was a tradition in our home. My Mom used to buy the little round cakes with the indentation on top- then fill them with fresh strawberries & top it off with whipped cream. So yummy!
I’m going to be trying a new Strawberry Shortcake recipe, courtesy of Chef Johnny Iuzzini. Johnny is a Macy’s Culinary Council expert and award-winning pastry chef. His strawberry shortcakes are layered with waves of vanilla crème and delectable slow-roasted strawberries… pure heaven! Here are the ingredients for the shortcakes themselves:

Before I try my hand at making Strawberry Shortcake for the first time ever; I’m going to get a little inspiration by attending one of Macy’s famous cooking demos! I’ve told you before & I’ll tell you again, Macy’s knows how to throw a Par-Tay!
Macy’s will be hosting their American Icons event June 14, 2016 at 6pm:
Chef Dries Delanghe will be baking up his very own Strawberry Shortcake & passing out samples. First 50 customers will receive a special gift, while supplies last. Tickets are FREE, just go to Macy’s.com for RSVP info.
Hope to see you there!
