As a child, I spent summers with my Grandparents. They had a “camp” (cabin) in the woods of East Texas, on the Texas/Louisiana border. It was at camp that I learned to fish, garden & explore the great outdoors. I believe my love of nature was born there in those East Texas woods. From baiting my fish hook and fishing in the Sabine River, to chasing crawfish, and shucking corn – I did it all at camp.
Fast forward to today, my Grandparents are no longer living, but my love of nature & the outdoors is still very much alive. My Grandparents taught me a lot about camping and I enjoy passing that knowledge on to my sons. Recently, we had a chance to get away to Lake Tahoe, and I thought it’d be a superb time to rent an RV Camper & expose my little guy to camping. We decided to stay at Camp Richardson Resort & Marina.
Camp Richardson is located in South Lake Tahoe. This lakeside resort has something for everyone. The accommodations at the resort range from simple lodge rooms with woodsy decor, to rustic cabins with kitchens and gas fireplaces. If cabins aren’t your thing, you can pitch a tent at the seasonal campsites or reserve an RV space. Amenities at the resort include a marina, general store, paddle boats and sports center. There’s also a cafe’, ice cream parlor, and a lakeside bar & grill. We can’t forget the best amenity: Lake Tahoe itself!
We don’t own an RV, so I started searching for a rental place and found Tahoe RV Rentals. They serve the South Lake Tahoe area and offer affordable RV rentals. As I checked out their website, I was impressed with the assortment of travel trailers they offer, from the 16′ Wolf Pup to the 29′ Cherokee 2 bedroom! (We opted for the 19′ Grey Wolf model.) Prices start at just $125 per night & you can reserve your camper online. But wait, it gets better! They deliver to your Tahoe campground.

This was our first time staying in an RV Travel Trailer (camper) and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We’ll definitely do it again. I loved having all the comforts of home: queen bed, bathroom, towels, shampoo & soap, tub and shower, stove & microwave, kitchen sink, dining table & sofa (both double as beds), A/C, and clean linens-paper towels, toilet paper & dishes! I don’t think I would’ve been able to tolerate spending the night on the ground in a tent, I’m more of a Glamping Gal. Did I mention there are bears at Camp Richardson?! LOL! We saw a Mama Bear & three cubs right outside our RV. One more reason to rent an RV Travel Trailer from Tahoe RV Rentals!
