Dulce de leche recipes for Hispanic heritage month

Since it’s #HispanicHeritageMonth, I thought it’d be a great time to share a few recipes with you. You know I don’t really need an excuse to share great recipes though. It’s what I do!

Today I’m showcasing Dulce de Leche. This sweet confection is from Latin America. It’s prepared by slowly heating sweetened milk (condensed milk) on the stove. After a while, the color will begin to change. The final product has an appearance and flavor similar to caramel. Dulce de leche is Spanish for “candy [made] of milk.”

Perhaps you’ve heard of Cajeta? Cajeta is a type of Dulce de Leche. It’s usually made from goat’s milk. When I was a child; I used to love when my Mom would visit Mexico, because I knew she’d bring back my favorite little Cajeta candy! She never let me down.

It’s SO yummy! I hope you enjoy these recipes. I’ll be sharing a few more with you real soon.
