Big Changes Coming In 2022, It’s About Time!

January 1, 2022

2022

Happy New Year! Hello 2022! I, for one, am glad to be done with 2021. I thought 2020 was bad, but 2021 proved me wrong! For starters, we are still dealing with Covid. Seems like a new variant appears every few months. I’ve lost count. As someone living with Diabetes, I am doing everything I can to remain healthy.

Since I’m discussing health, let’s dive deeper into that topic. The first Big Change for me will be to refocus on MY health. I take care of everyone else’s health & well-being, and tend to put my own on the back-burner. I was doing good for awhile, I really was. I was eating clean, getting my daily walks in, and losing weight. Then life threw me a few curveballs, and I fell off the wagon.

I’ve been “off the wagon” for months now. I’m still dealing with lots of roadblocks, and will be for quite some time. I need to just push through and get back on track.

One of those roadblocks has shown me that I’m stronger than I thought I was, and I thought I was pretty tough to begin with! I’ve gone through some rough times in my life, and the past few months have been really bad. I’ve experienced things that most folks will never experience, and I’m still standing.

(A few months ago, I found my dad deceased in his home. He’d passed away a few weeks before. So when I tell you I’ve experienced things many others will never experience, I’m not over exaggerating. The months that have followed have been excruciating. There’s so much to be done following a death, and I will be writing about it in the future.)

Since Covid began, I’ve been pretty quiet in this space. I plan on blogging more. I want to get back to doing podcast episodes too. I find that I can talk about topics I don’t write about, here on the blog. My podcast “Mixed Blessing With Mommy Powers- The Podcast” can be found on anchor.com.

A while back, I started a discussion about medical Cannabis. In 2022, I intend on resuming that conversation. I realize that will be a “turn-off” for some of you. There is a huge stigma attached to cannabis, and that’s one of the reasons I want to discuss it. For the record, I have never been “high” and I have never smoked marijuana. There are many uses for cannabis, it’s not all about getting high. Cannabis can help with many medical conditions. I intend on doing everything I can to normalize the use of cannabis. Period.

I also plan on sharing more products that I personally use & trust. I’ve been hesitant to do so in the past, but this year I’m going to change that. Hopefully, I’ll also be able to share discounts on those products too!

As I mature (get older!), I realize I don’t care (as much), about what others think of me. And you know what? It’s great! LOL! As an introvert, this change has been amazing! I’m able to speak my mind more freely. And I don’t care if you agree with me or not. I’m gonna live my life, do what’s best for me and my family, and that’s just the way it is. As a Christian, I answer to a higher power, not man. period.

I will still be speaking up for those who are not able to speak for themselves. Black Lives Still Matter, and always will. I’m a biracial Latina, raising a multicultural family.

There are more changes in store, I have lots of ideas and plans for 2022. Instead of saying “new year, new me,” I’m going to concentrate on being the best me I can be.

For now, I will leave you with this thought: What changes do YOU want to make in 2022?
