Bringing My Garden Indoors with Aromatherapy

September 29, 2015

This is a sponsored conversation in collaboration with Bloggin’ Mamas & Doctor Aromas. All opinions are my own.

I’ve written about my love of gardening before, there’s something special about connecting with nature, I feel at peace tending to my garden. Seeing my plants growing and the beauty they add to my garden has a calming effect on me. In today’s world of social injustice, poverty and uncertain times-I need all the “calm” I can get! 22206_989046441135429_2115130891248634244_n

You already know about my love of succulents, but my love of plants doesn’t end there. I have a rose garden, in honor of my Mom, who passed away in April. Roses were her favorite and they’ve been a constant in my life since I was little. Both she & my Grandfather had rose gardens; now I’m following in their footsteps. I also have a little mini-garden, with strawberries and watermelon. I enjoy planting things that not only look good, but can be of some benefit… either I can eat it, or use it for some other purpose. Take my aloe vera, for instance, it can be used to help with burns and abrasions. I recently planted peppermint that I can use for tea or a quick pick-me-up. I like to pinch off a few leaves, rub them between my fingers and inhale the fragrance- never fails to make me smile.

I also like to bring as much of that fragrance indoors as possible. Whether it’s clipping a few sprigs of sage & putting it in a small tea cup, or cutting some roses and placing them in  large vase- I love bringing the outdoors in. I want to enjoy all the benefits my garden has to offer-I want to experience that calming effect in my home, as well as the garden. My family deserves to live in a tranquil, peaceful environment.

When you walk into my home, I want you to feel at peace. Fresh flowers throughout the house help me accomplish that goal, as do essential oils & a little help from Doctor Aromas.  Doctor Aromas Home Aromatherapy System provides aromatherapy through your Central Air AC Unit. The Fragrance Canisters contain natural scents and essential oils that are sprayed on the AC filter. Depending on the size of the space and the fragrance intensity desired, the dispenser that is attached to the canister can be programmed to spray at desired intervals. Here’s a short video that explains it:

I like that Doctor Aromas Fragrances are made using the finest plant derived essences and pure essential oils. The propellant used is the same one used in asthma inhaler devices, it is non-flammable, and it does not hurt the ozone layer or affect people, pets or plants. Yay! And it makes my entire house smell so good. I’ve been a fan of essential oils & their benefits for years-this system allows me to experience essential oils throughout my entire home. I’m enjoying the zen feeling!

It was easy to install, if you can insert batteries-you can install this! Did I mention it comes with it’s own remote?! Yes indeed! The canister lasts about a month. So basically set it up & forget it. What you won’t soon forget is how amazing your home smells and all the compliments you’ll be getting as soon as guests walk in. I’ve been experiencing “Hope”.

Hope Fragrance

“The promise of spring fills the air with tangy lime and tea tree leaves bursting over sweet rose and jasmine petals, followed by a soft mist of patchouli, ginger, and the earthiness of gurjun balsam and sandalwood. Your possibilities are endless with Hope.”

AROMATHERAPEUTIC PROPERTIES

“Stimulates immune system and circulation, improves concentration and fights headaches, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial.”

We could all use a little Hope, right?! There are plenty of other fragrances to choose from & with Fall & Winter approaching, I’m eager to try them all. You can view the other fragrances here.

Do you use essential oils?
