Laughter’s the Best Medicine for UHCCF

This is a sponsored conversation, in collaboration with UHCCF-all opinions are my own.

The laughter of children, there are few things I enjoy more than hearing a child giggle. I believe children should have as much fun as humanly possible-that’s what childhood is all about! Playing, exploring, going on adventures, that’s what being a child is to me. Don’t you agree?

Not all children get to experience these things. Some children grow up in dysfunctional homes, filled with neglect & abuse, while others spend their early years in & out of hospitals-battling sickness & disease. It’s not fair, but it’s reality for many children.

New Children’s Joke Books Raise Funds

to Help Families Pay for Child Medical Expenses

This year, our family has experienced a few serious health issues -so we know firsthand how sad & depressing a hospital stay can be for little ones. United Healthcare Children’s Foundation,  (UHCCF) has collected knock-knock jokes and riddles for two new joke books that are now available for purchase. The joke books not only provide smiles and laughter, but also help fund child medical grants for families in need. Proceeds from the sales of the books will help fund UHCCF grants that help families pay for children’s medical expenses not covered, or not fully covered, by a commercial health insurance plan. (You don’t need to be enrolled in United Healthcare Insurance to apply for a medical grant for your child, you can apply no matter what insurance you have). Since 2007, UHCCF has funded more than 10,000 medical grants totaling more than $29 million. That’s a whole lotta money! Kudos to UHCCF for providing much needed assistance to families in need.

“The inspiration behind these books is to bring smiles and laughter to children, whether in a hospital, in the car or just hanging out with friends and family,” said UHCCF President Matt Peterson. “Earlier this month, we awarded our 10,000th medical grant, and the proceeds from these books will help us further our mission of helping thousands’ more families in the years ahead.”

These books make great gifts and help kids in need – I’m ordering mine today!
