Does the name Marie Kondo ring a bell with you? Maybe not, but chances are you’ve heard of the KonMari Method…right? I’ve been hearing the KonMari Method mentioned on my timelines for a few months now. I’m a packrat by nature- I think I inherited it from my parents… they both liked to collect things. My Mom had a huge cookbook collection & tons of recipes saved all around the house. I have quite an impressive cookbook collection myself, one I try to weed out from time to time, to make room for MORE cookbooks! LOL!
The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing, is a best-selling guide to decluttering your home from Japanese cleaning consultant Marie Kondo. It takes readers step-by-step through her revolutionary KonMari Method for simplifying, organizing, and storing. I haven’t read the entire book, but just seeing my friends using it to declutter their lives inspired me to do a little KonMari-ing (that’s not a word, I know) myself.
Kids are out of school right now & I figured it’d be a great time to go through their closets & see what doesn’t fit & donate it. Here’s a pic of all the bags I took to Goodwill.
Another thing I wanted to KonMari was our pantry & fridge. Out with all the “bad” junk food & in with all the things we should be eating instead. This is a difficult one, because we love our snacks & sweets-but ya gotta start somewhere. I got rid of all the sugary foods & drinks in the fridge. This summer, we are snacking on lots of fruit. I replaced the sugary drinks with BODYARMOR Sports Drink.
