9 Legit Ways To Make Money As A Stay At Home Mom

November 7, 2018

9 ways stay at home moms can make moneyMoms often ask me if I know of any legit ways to make money, while staying home with their children. I know quite a few ways. I’ve discussed my freelance jobs and mystery shopping before. Today I’m going to share more ideas on making money at home.

Being a parent is a full time job, but sadly, it doesn’t come with a paycheck. Many families find it difficult to get by on one income.  Even if the working parent is making enough for all the bills, you may want some spending cash of your own. Extra money comes in handy & can be used in many different ways. Use it to pamper yourself or your partner, save up for family vacations, to buy items the kids need, or to help pay down bills.

The good news is, there are ways you can be a stay at home mom, and still bring in some extra cash for your family, too. You don’t need to get a job, and you can still spend time with your children. How much you work, and how often you work, is up to you. You can work when the kids are napping, or when they are at school if you have older kids.

Here are some legit ways to make money as a stay at home mom:

Take surveys – You can get paid for your opinions by just filling out surveys. They can be a quick and easy way to earn some extra cash for things around the home. Some sites that do this pay in cash, others pay with gift cards, and some issue award points that you can trade in for things. Check out Harris Poll Online, Swagbucks, SurveyClub, and Global Test Market to name a few.
Be a jury member – Check out eJury.com to see if you qualify as an online juror. You can learn $5 to $10 per case for giving your opinion as a juror. (You can’t be an attorney, paralegal or legal assistant, and you cannot be related to an attorney.)
Be a virtual assistant (VA) – Being a virtual assistant, or VA, is another great way to earn more money from home. If you already have certain skills, such as receptionist, graphic designer, etc., then you can use these skills to help others online.
Write blog posts – You can start your own blog, or ghostwrite posts for other bloggers who just need some help with their content. There is a big market for blogging these days. You can even blog for a business or company.
Tutor people – Were you good in school? Maybe you can take some time to tutor others, such as students in your area. Check out Tutor.com as another resource to help you connect with people who need your help as a tutor.
Babysit other children – You can make some side cash babysitting other children in your home while watching your own kids. You can do it part time, or full time, depending on your needs and your availability. You could even babysit your child’s friends and they can have fun playing together. (Be sure to check your local laws regarding licensing first!)
Become a freelance writer or editor – If you like writing, or have a way with editing, you could become a freelance writer or editor. You can work for magazines, websites, personal clients, and businesses.
Sell your photos – Are you skilled with a camera? You can make money selling your photos to a variety of places. You can work as a freelance photographer, sell to magazines, or do personal photos for people you know.
•Sell on eBay – Clean out your closets and sell that stuff on eBay. You can also buy items at yard & estate sales to resell.

Now that you know these totally legit methods of earning money at home; you’re ready to give them a try for yourself. Which ones stand out as something you want to try?
